For all those interested in joining the church and learning more about who we are as a congregation, we will have a membership class following the 10:00 am worship service on Sunday, August 2nd. If you are interested in attending; please email pastor Steve at steve@cornerstonerocklin.org
The youth group and members of our church will be hosting the Gathering Inn guests for a night at our church on Sunday, July 19th. The guests will receive a hot dinner cooked by our volunteers and sleep in a warm, dry, safe environment.
A few of the men will be going on a 3-day backpacking trip and there is room for a few more. If you’re interested, please contact Steve P.
We will be going for the weekend after Labor Day: Thursday – Saturday, September 10-12 2009. We’ll drive to the trailhead early Thursday morning and hike in. We’ll spend Thursday night and Friday night in the backcountry. We’ll hike out on Saturday. We have a moderately strenuous trip in mind, something like 8-10 miles and a couple thousand feet of elevation gain on the hike in. We haven’t chosen a specific trail/destination yet, but we have an at-or-above timberline camping experience in mind, with some delightful day hiking options for Friday.
Several folks have a lot of the gear we’ll need for backcountry camping. Each person will need boots, backpack and sleeping bag – the rest we probably have enough to supply the group. Oh yes, you’ll also need an appetite for delicious freeze-dried meals!
This church welcomes you no matter who you are, or where you have come from, or why you are here. This is Christ's people and place: its doors open wide. If you are passing through, Godspeed; If you are looking for a new church home, please stay.
